The goal of these sessions is to promote our Undergraduate Research Fellows program, to introduce the concept and practice of Course-based Undergraduate Research Experiences (CUREs), and to brainstorm about how to conduct CUREs at different class levels and sizes.
The Undergraduate Research, Scholarship and Creativity Office (URSCO) requests nominations of outstanding UNCG faculty mentors for the Thomas Undergraduate Research Mentor Awards. We seek to recognize non-tenure track, pre-tenured (early career), and tenured (career) faculty for their efforts to engage undergraduates in experiential learning through research.
UNCG is an Enhanced Institutional Member of the Council on Undergraduate Research (CUR). This allows any interested UNCG faculty or staff to join CUR as an individual member at no additional cost. The Scholarship and Practice of Undergraduate Research (SPUR) is available to all CUR members electronically.

The URSCO is interested in working with faculty to identify funding opportunities and to co-write proposals that will increase the number of UNCG students engaged in undergraduate research, scholarship and creative activities. The URSCO has worked with faculty members in mathematics and biology on a grant for interdisciplinary research projects for undergraduates. URSCO also worked with the Music Research Institute on a grant to support undergraduate research. If you would like to work with the URSCO on funding opportunities, please contact us.
